THE WEDDING DAY

Sometimes I get overwhelmed by how lucky I am to witness such beautiful days — days full of connection, quiet feelings, and small details that say so much without a single word. Johanna and Paul’s wedding was exactly that kind of day.

From the very first moment, it felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be. The way the light fell, the way they looked at each other, the way everyone smiled just a little wider — it all felt effortless and full of love. There were so many genuine moments, moments where everything stood still for just a second, and I caught myself smiling behind the camera more times than I can count.

I’ve spent the past days diving deep into their story while editing, reliving all those fleeting glances, shared laughter, and the joy that filled every corner of that day. And now, the film is ready. It’s always a little bittersweet — finishing a film means saying goodbye to a day I genuinely loved being part of.
This one will stay with me for a long time.

DER HOCHZEITSTAG

Manchmal überwältigt es mich, wie viel Glück ich habe, solche besonderen Tage miterleben zu dürfen – Tage voller Verbindung, leiser Gefühle und kleiner Details, die ohne Worte so viel sagen. Die Hochzeit von Johanna und Paul war genau so ein Tag.

Vom ersten Moment an fühlte es sich an, als wäre ich genau dort, wo ich sein sollte. Das Licht, ihre Blicke, das Lächeln der Gäste – alles wirkte mühelos und erfüllt von Liebe. Es gab so viele echte Augenblicke, diese kurzen, stillen Momente, in denen die Zeit für einen Herzschlag lang stehen bleibt. Ich ertappte mich immer wieder dabei, wie ich hinter der Kamera lächeln musste.

In den letzten Tagen habe ich beim Schneiden des Films wieder und wieder in diesen Tag hineingetaucht – in die Blicke, das Lachen, die Freude, die in jedem Winkel spürbar war. Jetzt ist der Film fertig. Und wie so oft ist dieses Gefühl da – ein kleiner Abschied von einem Tag, der mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen ist.

Dieser wird noch lange bei mir bleiben.

PS: And I will never forget one of my favorite photographers, Selina.
We exchanged 3 sentences before the wedding on Instagram, but on the wedding day, from the first minute we greeted each other as if we had known each other for years. And this feeling only deepened during the day. <3

PS: Und ich werde niemals eine meiner Lieblingsfotografinnen, Selina, vergessen.
Wir haben vor der Hochzeit nur drei Nachrichten auf Instagram ausgetauscht, aber am Hochzeitstag haben wir uns vom ersten Moment an begrüßt, als würden wir uns schon seit Jahren kennen. Und dieses Gefühl wurde im Laufe des Tages nur noch stärker. <3
